Gryf Pomorski Bunker
A reconstruction of a bunker of the Gryf Pomorski Secret Military Organisation, a resistance group from the Second World War.
Jazyk obsahu
A low underground tunnel leads into the reconstructed bunker of the Gryf Pomorski Secret Military Organisation. Visitors must stoop to enter; beyond the tunnel is a space that can hold more than 60 people. The structure recreates one of the shelters used by Pomeranian resistance fighters during the German occupation.
Inside are original items of equipment and personal mementoes donated by members of the organisation. The reconstruction provides their setting, while the objects themselves came from its participants. Photographs and texts about Gryf Pomorski and its members hang on the timber-lined walls.
Staff from the Gdańsk branch of the Institute of National Remembrance helped create the bunker, with support from the Marshal of the Pomeranian Voivodeship. The programme associated with the site includes soldiers' songs such as “Pierwsza Brygada” and “Dziś do Ciebie”. Personal objects, photographs and songs present different traces of the resistance fighters' activities and how they are remembered.
