From the Great Fissure, the route leads through the chamber by the Rice Threshold to the palaeontological site in the Lion Chamber. Further on, a bear skeleton and an exposed sediment section reveal which animals left remains here and the deposits that preserved their bones.
In the Rimstone Pool Corridor, attention shifts to the cave floor, then to hanging formations in the Stalactite Corridor. Next, the Palace Chamber brings together the Candlestick, the Great Drapery and other calcite forms. The last stop described here is the Helictite Nook, with its twisting projections. The actual tour continues beyond it, through the Water Corridor and towards the Primitive Man Corridor, before reaching the exit airlock.
The standard walk covers about 360 metres and takes around 45 minutes. It follows the middle level, which also offers glimpses of other parts of the cave.
