Gertruda Adit

The tour begins with a 500-metre section of the Gertruda Adit. Its museum displays include mine maps and plans dating from the eighteenth to the twentieth century. These documents show workings expanded by successive generations of miners. Display cases contain mining and metallurgical tools, minerals and lamps used underground.

One of the exhibits is a muffle furnace, used in a laboratory to smelt gold. This introduces the processing stage: ore extracted from the rock required further treatment to recover the metal. Side passages house the Alchemist's Laboratory, while imitation bars in the treasury represent the scale of historic production. The adit combines authentic working equipment with reconstructions created for visitors.
