The Postwar Mushroom Farm
The railway shelter and machine room housed a mushroom farm after the National Bank of Poland abandoned plans to use them.
Jazyk obsahu
After the war, the shelters remained under the supervision of the Polish Army. In the 1960s they were leased to the Rzeszów branch of the National Bank of Poland. The bank considered using them as a state mint storage facility and a place to keep documents and currency, but eventually abandoned those plans.
The Agricultural Production Cooperative in Stępina later took over the railway and technical shelters and established a mushroom farm inside. Farming therefore occupied both main buildings of the former headquarters, not just the smaller protective bunkers. Years of use and maintenance helped keep the structures in good condition. Production stopped after 1990 for economic reasons.
The railway shelter remained on the military register for another decade. It was not removed and transferred to Frysztak municipality until 2000. Its postwar history thus included an unrealised bank storage project, a working mushroom farm and a transfer to local government.
