From the Donjon to Fort Ostróg
Explore the main fortress first, then Fort Ostróg: five stops without returning to the Donjon midway through your walk.

Begin in the Donjon with Built on the orders of Frederick the Great: the royal decision, the labourers' work and successive stages of construction. Then explore 'Walls, water and supplies', connecting the donjon's architecture with the facilities its garrison needed. Its three points cover construction, wells and the garrison's daily operations.
Stay in the main fortress for the story of its defence in 1807. Next comes 'A Monument of History': the protection of the fortifications and their opening to visitors. This stop completes the Donjon section. The stories share a building pin, which does not mark separate rooms or every historic well.
Only then head to Fort Ostróg, on the other side of the Srebrna Pass. The final card tells the story of the escape from Oflag VIII B, when prisoners used a hole in a bricked-up window and ropes made from sheets. Fort Ostróg provides a reference point for the camp's history, not the site of the escape described. There is no need to return to the Donjon after this part of the route.
