Grodziec: Defences and a Ducal Residence

Begin in the outer bailey, the former service area surrounded by defences. Once inside the accessible part of the upper castle, explore the keep from the courtyard: its ruins and the former structure of this residential and defensive tower. This stop does not require entering or climbing the tower. Follow the castle's current entrance signs.

Then cross the courtyard to the palatium. First explore the layout of the ducal residence, followed by the Knights' Hall, its vault and changing furnishings. These two themes stay together, without returning to the keep between them.

Finish by the palatium with the history of the torture instruments exhibition. The collection was brought to Grodziec in 2008 and is a later addition to the former ducal interiors. To visit the exhibition itself, follow signs to the rooms that are open, without passing closed access points.
