About the exhibition

The Town depicts provincial life in the Lublin region in the 1930s. Homes, shops, workshops and public buildings surround its market square. The first construction stage took place between 2010 and 2013. Its displays include tailoring and shoe-upper workshops, a barber shop, Jewish kitchens and a postal agency.

Some buildings are relocated originals; others are reconstructions. The parish complex includes the wooden church from Matczyn, bell tower from Motycz and rectory from Żeszczynka. Domestic interiors and workplaces show the daily lives of Polish and Jewish residents of small towns before the Second World War.
