About the exhibition

The narrative permanent exhibition follows the history of Nowy Sącz from 1867 to 1945: the era of Galician autonomy, the wars and the interwar period. The town's self-government in the Galician era holds a special place in it.

The story runs through three rooms. It begins in the Mayors' Hall, moves on to the first decades of autonomy, the arrival of the railway and the rebuilding of the town after the 1894 fire, and ends in the room devoted to the Great War, the interwar years and the Second World War.

The exhibition opened together with the museum's new premises in 2018.
