Sobre la pieza

The last room of the historical exhibition is called “Tak šel čas”, meaning “As Time Went By”. Rather than focusing on one industry or family, it presents changes in objects that accompanied the inhabitants in everyday life. Toys, means of payment, glassware, cameras and clothing are brought together here. Comparing these groups reveals the development of objects serving different purposes: play, shopping, dressing and recording images.

Material from local newspapers appears on the walls. It complements the objects with accounts recorded by the local press, linking the history of possessions with what residents read. Important events in Czech history that affected the town are also presented. The newspaper records show their local dimension, placing national history alongside objects used in homes and accounts preserved in print.

The final room is called “Tak šel čas”, or “As Time Went By”. It contains everyday things: toys, money, glassware, cameras and clothes. Each group tells us about a different activity. Toys are linked to play, money to shopping and cameras to taking pictures.

Material from local newspapers hangs on the walls. The press described events that mattered to people living in the town. The museum brings these accounts together with events in Czech history. In this room we therefore see both old objects and records of what happened around the people who used them.
