Sobre la pieza

The PTS-M combines a tracked chassis with a floating hull. On land it moves on tracks, while in water it is driven by two propellers. It was designed to carry people, motor vehicles, artillery and other military loads across water obstacles. A two-person crew operates it, and its W54-T diesel engine develops 350 metric horsepower.

The Mrągowo collection lists a PTS-M built in 1978. The design originated in the Soviet Union and was manufactured by the Kryukov railway wagon works. The vehicle is about 11.5 metres long and 3.3 metres wide; the machine itself weighs 17.7 tonnes. Its large cargo area reflects its transport role: it carries other equipment as well as its own crew. The combination of tracks, propellers and a cargo deck explains why its outline is so different from that of the tanks in the same collection.

Two people operated it, and its engine developed 350 metric horsepower. The machine is about 11.5 metres long and weighs 17.7 tonnes without its load. The large deck holds the equipment being carried. Propellers, tracks and cargo space work together to make a vehicle for crossings.
