Langue du contenu
The Rzeszów collection includes an animation cel with a background from the Bolek and Lolek series and a poster for “Bolek i Lolek na Dzikim Zachodzie” (Bolek and Lolek in the Wild West). The first object comes from the process of creating the film image; the second accompanied its presentation to cinema audiences.
The brothers’ adventures were made at Studio Filmów Rysunkowych in Bielsko-Biała. Bolek and Lolek made their debut in 1963, and the studio produced their adventures for the next 23 years. Bolek is older and taller; Lolek is younger. Władysław Nehrebecki drew inspiration from his sons, Janek and Romek, when creating the characters.
“Wielka podróż Bolka i Lolka” (Bolek and Lolek’s Great Journey), Poland’s first feature-length drawn animation, premiered in 1977. Its directors were Władysław Nehrebecki and Stanisław Dülz. The cinema film “Bolek i Lolek na Dzikim Zachodzie”, directed by Dülz, dates from 1986. The museum’s poster therefore relates to the final stage of the brothers’ film career.
