À propos de l’objet

The ODRA 1305 system came from the Hutmen works in Wrocław. It presents an industrial computer as a set of separate devices rather than a single box with a screen. The surviving system includes two JC 1305 central processing units, one with a memory cabinet. These computing components are accompanied by separate devices for storing and transferring data.

The equipment includes a PT3 magnetic tape unit and a multiplexer. Tape was one of the system's storage media; this computer was more than its central unit. A DW3-series line printer and two DW4-series printers also survive. Printed paper was one way to receive the results of the computer's work.

Operators used Mera Elzab 7911N screen terminals and DZM 180KSRE printing terminals. Screens and printers served different roles rather than forming a single device. Magnetic tapes containing software, device controllers and a tape rack marked ELWRO were preserved along with the hardware. The surviving media add the software to the machine's material history.
