Castle Baths
Baths in the basement of the west wing reveal another stage in the residence’s modernisation.
Langue du contenu
The Castle Baths were installed in 1928. They occupy the basement of the Castle’s west wing. They date from a period of interior works initiated by Alfred III Potocki. Conservation of the baths formed part of the work carried out at the Castle in 2018-2020.
This part of the residence offers a look at facilities intended for the owners’ private comfort. It is a separate exhibition devoted to bathing, beyond the state rooms. Admission requires a separate ticket, and the approximate visiting time is 20 minutes. Check its last admission time separately from the Castle’s main exhibition. The baths are not accessible to wheelchair users.
The Castle’s modernisation began before the baths were installed: the rebuilding of 1889-1912 introduced central heating, electric lighting and water and drainage systems.
