À propos de l’exposition

The Exhibition of the History of the Town and Region occupies the specially adapted attic of the starost's manor. Its sections cover the courts and administration, the town's multicultural past, education, crafts and trade, as well as World War I and II, the Katyn massacre, the pacification of Leżajsk in 1943 and the Holocaust.

The exhibits include the official town seal from 1848, Father Piotr Skarga's "Lives of the Saints", matzevot from the Jewish cemetery, icons, tiles from the Romański family workshop and a medal containing a clod of Katyn soil. A cemetery register listing the victims recalls those killed in the pacification of the town.

In autumn 2017 the exhibition was modernised with funding from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and the County Office. The new display combines showcases with film projections and multimedia screens.
