À propos du parcours

The route begins with the red panda, whose tail and claws help it move through trees. Next come two cats: the fishing cat, which hunts in water, and the lynx, with long legs and a short tail. The Himalayan monal takes the story into the mountains, where a bill can dig food out of soil and snow.

Inside the aviary, the next encounters concern the crowned pigeon and the sloth. The large pigeon gathers food on the ground, while the South American mammal spends most of its life above it. The aviary closes earlier than the garden, so allow for this part before continuing your walk. Beside lemur island, the theme shifts to group life. The radiated tortoise then introduces a different form of bodily protection: a shell.

Meerkats combine digging underground shelters with keeping a close watch on their surroundings. The route ends with the Mishmi takin, whose year includes journeys between mountain meadows and forests. Together, the ten stops compare ways of finding food, avoiding danger and coping with climate. Use the designated paths and follow the garden’s current signs between stops.

Pour les enfants

We begin with the red panda, an expert at moving along branches. Next we meet the fish-hunting fishing cat and the lynx with tufts on its ears. The monal shows that a beak can be used for digging, even when food lies beneath snow.

In the aviary, we explore the lives of the crowned pigeon and the sloth. One finds food on the ground; the other lives high in trees. This building closes earlier than the garden. Next come lemurs with striped tails and a radiated tortoise with star-shaped markings on its shell.

Finally, we meet meerkats that warn their group about danger, and a takin that travels through mountains. Each animal has its own ways of eating, resting and staying safe. Walk quietly along the paths, stay behind barriers and avoid startling the animals.
