Regional homes and crafts
Household equipment, textile tools and pottery from Nová Baňa and its surroundings.
A tartalom nyelve
Household furnishings from the first half of the twentieth century introduce everyday life in the region. Objects used at home appear alongside tools connected with farming and local customs. Equipment for making cloth forms a separate group: looms, spinning wheels and distaffs. These represent different stages of textile production, rather than several versions of the same device.
Traditional clothing comes from nearby villages. Set alongside the tools, it shifts attention from the work itself to finished garments and their place in community life. Pottery from Nová Baňa and Brehy documents local pot-making. Its varied shapes make it a collection of different products rather than a single representative type of vessel.
The objects also include folk woodcarvings on religious themes. Sacred art thus appears alongside furnishings and work as part of the same regional culture. The collection brings together everyday and festive objects. Its subject is how things were made and used: cloth production, clothing, pottery, and domestic and agricultural tools, rather than a reconstruction of one particular household.
