Bolczów: From the Gate to Kapelania

Begin at the dry moat and bridge, outside the entrance to the ruins. After crossing the bridge, explore the barbican and artillery tower, followed by the gatehouse. These neighbouring structures show how the entrance was strengthened as firearms became increasingly important.

Beyond the gatehouse, continue into the lower courtyard. The path then leads towards the upper castle entrance, where you will learn about the corner tower. View it from the passage and courtyard; the route does not require climbing the walls. Once through the gate to the older castle, stop at the courtyard and cistern, then at the High House.

The final stop is Kapelania, associated with former living quarters on a rock outcrop. Steps and passages between rocks lead to the higher parts. Afterwards, return along the same route through the courtyards to the bridge; this is not a circular walk. Use only open passages and follow signs within the ruins.
