Wooden houses, a villa, a church and a reconstructed tram shelter explore everyday life in historic Łódź.
Lingua dei contenuti
Łódź City Culture Park, formerly the Open-Air Museum of Łódź Wooden Architecture, gathers eight historic structures from Łódź and its surroundings - five wooden houses from Wólczańska, Żeromskiego, Kopernika and Mazowiecka streets, a villa from Ruda Pabianicka, a reconstructed wooden tram shelter from Zgierz, and the Church of St Andrew Bobola from Nowosolna, built from 1846 as the oldest structure in the whole ensemble.
The park has functioned as an integral part of the museum since 2008. The five houses host the exhibition Łódź Microhistories. Human Microhistories, telling the stories of residents of multicultural Łódź from the late 19th century to the 1980s. The relocated villa from Ruda Pabianicka houses the interactive exhibition The Last Summer, where most objects can really be picked up and used. The park shows wooden, pre-war Łódź alongside the industrial White Factory.
