Main route: ten ways of living
From a flamingo's filtering bill to a snow leopard's mountain paws: animal ways of feeding, moving and caring for young.

The walk begins with Chilean flamingos, whose feeding method introduces the theme of finding food. It then continues to African penguins and maned wolves. Water offers the birds a hunting ground, while tall grass makes long legs and good hearing useful to a maned wolf.
At the red kangaroos, attention turns to movement and growing up in a mother's pouch. The next stops, African elephants and Indian rhinoceroses, show two different body plans for a large plant-eater: a grasping trunk and a massive body with deep folds of skin. Giraffes shift the focus to leaves high above the ground and precise tongue movements.
Next come lions and the common hippopotamus. The social life of the predators is followed by the rhythm of a mammal that rests in water and feeds on land. The route ends at the snow leopard, whose fur, paws and tail form a set of adaptations to mountain life. All ten encounters explore how an animal's body helps it live in its natural surroundings.
Per bambini
We start with a flamingo, which strains food through its bill. Next we meet a penguin hunting in water and a maned wolf with legs suited to tall grass. Three different animals have three different ways of finding food.
Then come kangaroos, elephants and rhinoceroses. A kangaroo hops on its hind legs, an elephant picks up food with its trunk, and a rhinoceros protects its skin with mud. At the giraffes, look upwards: a long tongue helps them grasp leaves.
The last part of the walk brings lions, Hugo the hippopotamus and a snow leopard. Lions cooperate in a pride, the hippo combines life in water with eating grass on land, and the snow leopard manages mountain terrain. At every stop, a body feature or behaviour reveals a different solution to everyday needs. We follow the paths with an adult and give the animals peace and quiet.
