The region's archaeological story from the Palaeolithic to the sixteenth century.

La mostra

Po stopách predkov explores the prehistory and early history of the Nové Zámky region. Tools, pottery, ornaments and building remains document past communities. Reconstructed homes, clothing and burials supplement the finds without replacing the original objects.

From the Stone and Bronze Ages, the story moves through the Celts, the Roman-Germanic world, Slavs, Avars and Great Moravia. The final sections concern the arrival of the early Hungarians and the eleventh to sixteenth centuries. A reconstruction of part of a medieval kitchen concludes the exhibition.
