Muzeum Militarnej Historii w Bornem Sulinowie
The Military History Museum in Borne Sulinowo was founded in 2014. Its work centres on preserving military vehicles and keeping equipment operational for demonstrations. The museum’s history therefore involves collecting, repairs and the people whose work keeps heavy machines moving.
The collection brings together different military tasks. The 2S1 Goździk howitzer represents artillery, while the PTS-M carries heavy loads across water. The Swedish Volvo BV202 was designed for difficult terrain, including snow and marshes. Wheeled vehicles include the Polish Star, the German Unimog and Wolf, and the Soviet-designed UAZ, GAZ, Ural and KrAZ. They differ in size, how they move and how they carry people or equipment.
Demonstrations of working vehicles are a significant part of the museum’s activities. The programme announced for Tanker Days 2025 included heavy vehicle displays and loading a truck onto an amphibian. Such events illustrate the museum’s approach: presenting machinery in operation, supported by the people who maintain and operate it.

This museum has been operating since 2014 and looks after military vehicles. Its team repairs equipment and keeps some machines running. During a demonstration, a museum vehicle can help explain history with its engine working.
The collection contains very different machines. The PTS-M can float with a heavy load, while the Volvo BV202 travels across snow and marshy ground. The Goździk carries a gun on its own tracks. Trucks and smaller vehicles carried people and goods or provided medical transport. Not every military vehicle is a tank.
Star comes from Poland, while Unimog and Wolf come from Germany. UAZ, GAZ, Ural and KrAZ have Soviet origins. Comparing them helps explain why different jobs needed different machines: some had to carry a large load, while others needed to reach places without ordinary roads.
