Greek Catholic church from Tarnoszyn
A three-domed church built in Uhrynów and relocated twice.
Lingua dei contenuti
The church from Tarnoszyn was built in Uhrynów in 1759. It was moved to Tarnoszyn much later, between 1904 and 1906. Its timber walls use interlocking log construction, and three domes crown the building. A vestibule, nave and sanctuary follow a single axis, with two sacristies flanking the sanctuary.
At the museum, the roof is covered with wooden shingles; in Tarnoszyn, it was clad in galvanised iron sheets. Simple painted decoration from the early twentieth century survives inside, alongside traces of earlier painting. The surrounding enclosure and grave mound reproduce features documented on the historic church grounds in Tarnoszyn.
The building remains a place of worship for Lublin's Greek Catholic parish. It forms a sacred complex with a bell tower from Lubycza-Kniazie, a churchyard cemetery and a chapel from Słoboda. The bell tower therefore comes from a different village than the church itself.
