In the first half of the 17th century Piotr Tarnowski, Castellan of Gostynin, laid out a garden with a grid of beds on the meadows around the castle. It contained a viewing mound, and foundations found during archaeological research point to a small pavilion on its top.

The park was given its present shape by the Orsetti family in the late 1830s. A system of drainage canals was created at that time, which together with the ponds and the moat enriched the new layout. In the southern part of the park a Neo-Baroque flower parterre was laid out with stone steps down to the moat, decorated with sculptures of lions. Along the moat stand brick pedestals with stone vases, linked by chains. The composition incorporated the old Renaissance garden lined with rows of trees, which then served as an orchard.

One of the view axes runs north from the terrace towards the wide ponds and meadow in the valley of the Słudwia River. Valuable trees here include the Kentucky coffeetree, black walnut and copper beech. A common ash in the south-eastern part of the park has been declared a natural monument. The most common trees are common ash, small-leaved lime, field maple, hornbeam and pedunculate oak.
