Andrzej’s House
A larger museum house adapted as the home of Andrzej, Jan Paweł’s neighbour and rival in “1670”.
Jazyk obsahu
Andrzej's House is the screen home of Jan Paweł's neighbour and rival in “1670”. One of the larger houses already standing in the open-air museum in Kolbuszowa was adapted for filming. It was therefore prepared differently from Jan Paweł's manor, whose exterior was built from scratch. The two screen residences can belong to the same fictional world despite being created in entirely different ways. The screen name refers to the building's role in the story, rather than a historic owner of the house.
Mirosław Koncewicz designed the series' sets. The Kolbuszowa buildings served as the production's base, supplemented by new structures and altered by the art department. In the period comedy, the historic house became a nobleman's home.
Andrzej represents a different outlook from Jan Paweł: he wants to reform the Commonwealth and treats peasants better. Their rivalry extends even to a hunt, where both seek the favour of a wealthy guest looking for a wife. Zofia reproaches Jan Paweł because his neighbour owns the “larger half” of Adamczycha. The dispute between the landowners therefore also concerns the size of their estates, compared in the Adamczewski family's conversations.
