O exponáte

The L in Unimog 1300 L denotes a long wheelbase: a greater distance between the front and rear axles. This version was introduced in 1975. It belongs to the heavy Unimog family with the distinctive angular cab that entered the range in the mid-1970s.

The design uses a torsionally flexible U-section frame and an eight-speed gearbox. The frame allows the chassis to flex over uneven ground. Unimogs have four-wheel drive, and their uses include military duties, public services and medical transport with an appropriate body. The body therefore helps determine a particular vehicle’s role: a shared chassis can form the basis of vehicles carrying out very different tasks.

Pre deti

The letter L means that this Unimog has a long wheelbase, the distance between its front and rear wheels. The 1300 L version appeared in 1975. Its angular cab is characteristic of the heavy Unimog family.

Four-wheel drive helps it travel off road. The Unimog also has a frame that can twist when the ground beneath its wheels is uneven. A frame is the structure supporting the vehicle’s components. Its gearbox has eight speeds. Military and public services use Unimogs, while suitably equipped versions provide medical transport. One vehicle family can therefore carry out many different jobs.
