O exponáte

The classroom brings together school smocks, a blackboard and textbooks. Pupils’ belongings accompany the classroom furnishings in this reconstructed interior. The smocks represent school clothing, while the books and board relate to lessons. Old maps, globes and musical instruments are also present. Teaching aids for different subjects place geography alongside music, reading and writing. The school collection also includes class registers and pencil cases.

One of the school supplies is a pencil sharpener with a razor blade fitted inside it. Its construction differs from many modern sharpeners, but it served the same purpose: sharpening a pencil. Button-shaped watercolour paints have also survived, including carmine and light cinnabar green. These small supplies show everyday schoolwork alongside larger teaching aids such as maps and globes.

Pre deti

Pupils used to wear school smocks. The display also has textbooks and a blackboard. Maps and globes helped children learn about the world, and instruments were used in music lessons.

Some supplies look familiar; others have surprising designs. One sharpener has a razor blade inside to sharpen pencils. The watercolour paints are shaped like little buttons. They include carmine and light cinnabar green. Pencil cases and class registers are also part of the school collection.
