Muzeum Ziemi Lubuskiej
The museum's collections began in 1908 with Albert Severin's collection documenting the heritage of the Zielona Góra guilds. The museum itself was founded in 1922 as a Heimatmuseum, and since 1959 it has occupied the former district office building on today's Niepodległości Avenue. It took the name Museum of the Lubusz Land in the second half of the 1960s, and its departments later gave rise to the museums in Ochla, Świdnica and Drzonów.
The collection numbers more than 17,000 objects, including more than six thousand works of contemporary art and more than 1,500 winemaking items. The new wing, opened in 2020, is connected to the old building on three levels; its hall houses a Renaissance portal from 1596.
The exhibitions occupy four levels. The second floor presents the Golden Grape Gallery, the first the history of the city and the region and Silesian sacred art, the ground floor among others the clock room and the stained-glass gallery, and the cellars the Wine Museum and the Museum of Old Tortures.
