O exponátu

The Fiat 125p simulator recreates the idea of driving the large Fiat. It is an interactive station, not a ride in a historic car on a road. The museum also has truck and flight simulators; this one takes a particular Polish passenger car as its starting point. The 125p was built at the FSO factory in Warsaw’s Żerań district from 1967 to 1991. The letter “p” distinguished the Polish version from the Italian Fiat. Production totalled about 1.45 million cars, many of them exported.

The basic version was a four-door saloon. Its design combined the body and braking system of the Italian Fiat 125 with mechanical components from the older Fiat 1300/1500 family. The familiar shape therefore concealed elements inherited from different models.

Other body styles followed: an estate in 1972 and a pick-up in 1975. The simulator refers to a model with both passenger and utility versions. The historical vehicle and this contemporary way of presenting driving are two distinct things.
