Jazyk obsahu
Mrągowo’s 1943 GMC CCKW has a cargo body. The American CCKW family was one of the United States Army’s main transport trucks during the Second World War. It carried people and goods; drive to all three axles is described as 6×6. The 352 and 353 versions had different wheelbases, providing shorter and longer chassis within the same family.
Standard cargo platforms were fitted with folding benches for soldiers. Once these were folded, the space could be used for loads. Besides cargo trucks, the chassis carried tankers, workshops and communications bodies. The family used the GMC 270 six-cylinder inline petrol engine. In 1943, an open cab became the production standard to simplify manufacture and save materials. This does not mean that every surviving truck from that year has an identical cab: the individual vehicle in this collection is identified by its model, year and cargo body. The truck represents the supply transport that supported units equipped with much more readily recognised tanks.

The 1943 GMC CCKW is an American truck. Built during the Second World War, it has a body for carrying cargo. Trucks like this also carried soldiers. Folding benches were fitted on cargo platforms. Folding them away left more room for equipment.
The marking 6×6 means that all three axles are driven: six wheel positions transfer power to the ground. The CCKW family included chassis of different lengths and many kinds of body. Workshops and tankers were built on them too. The GMC 270 engine ran on petrol and had six cylinders in a row. In 1943, simpler open cabs became standard to save materials. Military transport needed large numbers of trucks: they brought people and other vehicles the equipment they needed.
