Kayak landings on the Wierzyca
Two stopping places for paddlers connect the hillfort grounds with the river.
Content language
Two kayak landings are located within Grodzisko Owidz. The position in a bend of the Wierzyca allows paddlers to stop at the site during a river trip. Use of the landings is free. A short break or a longer stay can be planned here. The campsite beside the woodland, opened in 2022, has toilets, showers and a place to prepare meals. Overnight stays are a separate paid service to be arranged with the venue.
The Wierzyca runs past the stronghold to the north and east. It once also flowed around the hill to the south, as the old riverbed shows. A riverside walk therefore passes through a landscape that has changed since the stronghold was occupied. There are also two designated fire sites on the riverbank. Their use and charges form a separate part of the offer, as does camping. A free stop at a landing does not automatically include the site’s other services.
For children
The Wierzyca flows beside the hillfort. Today it passes to the north and east. In the past it also flowed around the southern side. The old riverbed helps us see how the landscape has changed.
There are two kayak landings on the site. Paddlers can use them free of charge. A separate paid campsite provides showers and a place to prepare food. Two fire sites have also been created beside the river. Camping and fires must be arranged with the venue; they are not included in a stop at the landing.
