About

Muzeum Broni i Militariów

Jet aircraft, a T-72 tank and a Goździk howitzer form the outdoor section of the collection in Witoszów Dolny. Together with smaller objects, they show the different scales of military technology, from an individual soldier's equipment to machines requiring a crew and support facilities. Alongside armoured vehicles are the MiG-21, Su-22 and the Polish Iskra and Iryda trainers. A replica Fokker Dr.I triplane reaches back to the earlier aviation era of the First World War.

Stanisław Gabryś founded the museum in 1999, initially in Świdnica. His collecting, military transfers and private donations helped the holdings grow. Moving to Witoszów Dolny allowed the heavy equipment collection to expand. Today, different types of vehicles stand alongside artillery, radar stations, military cars and motorcycles.

Stanisław Gabryś, the museum’s founder and the creator of its collection, died on 13 October 2026 at the age of 82. His son, Sławomir Gabryś, took over responsibility for running the museum. The museum continues to operate.

Indoors, the displays include handguns and long guns, automatic and anti-tank weapons, edged weapons and soldiers' equipment. Uniforms, orders and decorations add objects worn by people to the story of technology. Models of fighting machines complete a collection in which a large airframe and a small decoration belong to the same account of military life and its material heritage.

The museum also offers rides in the 2S1 Goździk self-propelled howitzer.

The KSO Świdnica live-fire shooting range is at ul. Łączna 4 in Świdnica, about 5 km from the museum. It is a separate location outside the museum grounds. Information about the range is available at strzelam.pl.

In Witoszów Dolny, aircraft stand alongside a tank, artillery and vehicles used to carry soldiers. The Museum of Arms and Military Equipment also collects much smaller objects: uniforms, medals and military equipment. Large machines and things worn by people show different parts of military history. The aircraft include the MiG-21 and Su-22, as well as the Polish Iskra and Iryda, which were designed for training pilots.

Stanisław Gabryś founded the museum in 1999. It first opened in Świdnica. Objects donated by the armed forces and private individuals helped the collection grow. Moving to Witoszów Dolny gave the museum the chance to expand its collection of heavy machines. Radar equipment, used to detect objects, joined military cars and motorcycles.

Inside the building are different types of weapons and soldiers' equipment, along with models of military machines. The Fokker Dr.I, with three wings stacked above one another, has a separate story. It is a replica: a modern reconstruction of an old aircraft. The original design dates from the First World War, long before the age of jet aircraft.
