About

Muzeum Dobranocek ze zbiorów Wojciecha Jamy w Rzeszowie

The casing of a Lazuryt television now houses the original Jacek and Agatka hand puppets. The collection includes puppets of Miś Uszatek and Colargol, animation cels, background designs, scripts and Bolek and Lolek memorabilia. The Museum of Bedtime Cartoons in Rzeszów brings objects from filmmakers’ workshops together with things that once found their way into children’s rooms.

Wojciech Jama founded the collection by donating his holdings to the museum, established in 2008 and opened on 22 March 2009. His interests included original film materials as well as toys, books, cosmetics and packaging decorated with cartoon characters. The permanent exhibition also includes memorabilia connected with foreign characters, among them the Little Mole, the Smurfs and Maya the Bee.

Alongside its displays, the museum offers cartoon screenings and educational activities. Temporary exhibitions focus on particular characters and the work behind animation. The characters appear here as original puppets, drawings, sculptures and small images on everyday objects.
