About

Muzeum Historii i Militariów w Jeleniej Górze

A T-34-85 tank, guns and radar equipment form a collection linked to Jelenia Góra's military history. Objects began to be assembled in the mid-1970s at a military remembrance room in Cieplice. In 1985, the heavy equipment moved to a site beside a military unit in Jelenia Góra.

Today, the Museum of History and Military Affairs, a branch of the Karkonosze Museum, presents equipment with different roles, from tank combat and artillery support to anti-aircraft fire control. The KUB-M launcher and SON-9A radar belong to different systems, although both relate to air defence.

Some objects come from the initial collection; others were donated by military units. Alongside the history of each design is the history of individual examples: where they came from, when they were transferred and which parts of their equipment have survived.
