About

This limousine was made from two Fiat 125p cars. Joining them produced an elongated body unlike that of an ordinary large Fiat. Its length relative to the familiar model’s shape is the telling feature: this is a conversion of a production car, not a standard catalogue version. The vehicle served Polish airline LOT as VIP transport. Its purpose was to carry passengers in a more formal car. The aviation connection lies in its operator and function, not in aircraft engineering.

The standard Fiat 125p was a four-door saloon. Production began at FSO on 28 November 1967. The limousine retained the recognisable form of the passenger car while changing its proportions by joining two vehicles.

Series production of the 125p continued until 1991, reaching about 1.45 million examples. Against that background, the LOT limousine represents a special use of a mass-produced model. Its defining feature is not a rare marque but the way its body was rebuilt for a different task.
