About

The bathroom presents equipment associated with bathing in the 19th century. Alongside the tub are a stove for heating water and an early predecessor of the modern shower. They date from a time when preparing a warm bath required a separate source of heat.

Bydgoszcz industry also supplied sanitary equipment. Harmann Israelowicz's factory made bathing appliances and toilets, including pipe systems that carried hot water to a bath. From 1893, residents without mains water could use hand pumps designed by engineer Samuel Zimmer.

The display represents a prosperous town household's bathing room in the late 19th century. Two toilets are also presented in this section, adding to the picture of historic sanitary furnishings.
