Muzeum-Zamek w Łańcucie
Łańcut Castle Museum brings together an aristocratic residence and collections assembled by the museum itself. Its interiors preserve successive phases of decoration, from rooms dating back to the 17th century to Neoclassical state rooms and apartments furnished around the turn of the 20th century.
The Potocki family's former equestrian complex houses 55 of the family's historic vehicles alongside a separate museum collection. In the park, formal gardens close to the buildings give way to winding paths and open lawns. The Orchid House continues the tradition of growing exotic plants, restored after the greenhouses were rebuilt.
The icons and early printed books in the Department of Church Art tell a different story: the safeguarding of religious heritage following the forced displacement of the Ukrainian population. The City History Department explores everyday urban life and the town's garrison. The castle and park complex was designated a Monument of History in 2005.
The second-floor interiors and Castle Baths can be visited separately. The Jan Potocki Tradition Education Centre occupies two buildings: the former Orangery, with multimedia exhibitions about life in the residence, and the former Riding Hall, displaying horse-drawn vehicles collected by the museum after the Second World War. Each exhibition has its own opening times and tickets.
