About the route

Begin with the brown bear, in the part of the zoo near the entrance. Continue to the snow leopard, wolf and Amur tiger in the same area. Compare the bear’s mixed diet, the leopard’s mountain adaptations, cooperation within a wolf family and the tiger’s stripes and winter coat.

The path then leads towards two large herbivores: the European bison and moose. Discover the bison’s return to the wild and the role of the moose’s long legs and changing antlers. After this section, head towards the capybara, followed by the otter. Both use water, but their diets and ways of life differ.

The final section passes through the owl area to the Eurasian eagle owl, then continues to the dwarf crocodile in the Aquarium Terrarium. Compare the bird’s hearing and quiet flight with the reptile’s armour. The route explores each area in turn and finishes at the pavilion near the entrance. Look for each species’ information board and stay on visitor paths.

For children

Start with the brown bear, which eats both animals and plants. Next meet the snow leopard with its long tail, wolves living in family groups and the striped tiger. Visit these animals in one part of the garden.

Then come the bison and moose. The bison has powerful shoulders; the moose has long legs and antlers that change through the year. After them, meet the capybara and otter. Both use water, but they find their food in different ways.

Finish with the eagle owl and dwarf crocodile in the Aquarium Terrarium. The owl flies quietly, while armour protects the crocodile’s body. Walk calmly and stay on the paths. Do not call to animals or tap on glass: their remarkable features can be seen even when they rest.
