Windmill from Zygmuntów
A wooden tower mill built in 1918, using wind power to produce flour, animal feed and groats.
Idioma del contenido
Ludwik Pastuszak, a craftsman from Czysta Dębina, built this windmill in 1918 for Wincenty Warda, a farmer from Zygmuntów. Stanisław Grudzień from Zakrzew bought it in 1926. This Dutch-type mill has a stationary, octagonal body with three storeys. Only the cap and sails were turned to face the wind.
Initially, the mill produced rye flour and ground barley and oats for animal feed. In 1939, its equipment was expanded to include a groat mill and a winnowing machine for cleaning grain before milling. Average output was 200 to 300 kilograms of grain per hour, rising to as much as 400 kilograms in a favourable wind.
Relocated in 1976, it was the first building brought to the future open-air exhibition. Visitors were first admitted in 1979.
