TS-11 Iskra 200BR aircraft
The single-seat prototype numbered 0823 was created by converting a training aircraft.
A tartalom nyelve
Only one Iskra 200BR, numbered 0823, was built. Its designers adapted the Iskra trainer for ground-attack and reconnaissance tasks. They retained one crew position instead of two. An additional fuel tank replaced the second seat, and the cockpit canopy was shortened. The change in purpose was therefore visible in the aircraft’s shape.
The prototype made its first flight on 22 June 1972. It received a modified SO-3B engine. The project did not attract enough interest to put this variant into series production. The aircraft later went to the 45th Experimental Aviation Squadron in Modlin, where it was used for liaison duties.
Its last flight was on 30 October 1985. It subsequently served as a teaching aid at the Technical School of Air Forces in Zamość. It was transferred to Drzonów on 25 September 1990. This single example preserves the history of a design project, testing, limited service and the training of future specialists. The number 0823 distinguishes it from other Iskra variants in the museum’s collection.

This Iskra has room for only one pilot. It was created from a training aircraft that originally had two seats. The second seat was removed to make space for an additional fuel tank. The transparent cockpit canopy was shortened too. These changes were intended to adapt the aircraft to different tasks.
The converted machine first flew on 22 June 1972. However, no more examples of this version were built. It remained the only one. Later it served as a liaison aircraft in Modlin, and after its flying career ended it became a teaching aid at a military school in Zamość. It came to Drzonów on 25 September 1990 and can be recognised by its number, 0823.
