Historic Kitchen
A Baroque kitchen and pantry reveal the work behind everyday meals.
Lingua dei contenuti
The historic kitchen represents the Baroque period. It belongs to the exhibition about life in the palace, alongside rooms associated with its owners and servants. Preparing food was one of the daily tasks on which the whole household depended. The estate tour programme describes a morning beginning with lighting the stove and cooking breakfast on the hearth. The kitchen thus introduces work carried out before the occupants of the grander rooms began their day.
An old pantry is associated with the kitchen. In the educational programme, it helps explain how provisions were stored to last through the winter. Alongside cooking, the display introduces the separate task of preserving food for later use. During children's tours, old kitchen utensils prompt discussion of their purpose. The programme also covers washing pots without modern detergents and doing the household laundry. The kitchen connects historic equipment with specific domestic duties.

In the Baroque kitchen, we learn about the people who prepared meals for the palace household. Their day began with lighting the stove and cooking breakfast on the hearth. Old utensils help explain these jobs.
The pantry, a place for storing food, was important too. During organised activities, children learn how people stocked up for winter, washed pots without modern cleaning products and did the laundry. The tour explains objects that were once part of everyday household life.
