This T-34-76 carries a history recorded in components from several factories. Its hull was built at the Stalingrad Tractor Factory, its hexagonal turret at UZTM in Sverdlovsk, and its F-34 gun in Gorky. This combination reflects wartime repairs: the vehicle lost its earlier turret and received a replacement. Combining components helped return damaged equipment to service.
The tank served in the Red Army before passing to Polish training units. In autumn 1944 it joined the Officer School of Armoured Weapons. By 1949 it was with the 8th Tank Regiment in Żagań. Its military career therefore included both wartime service and training later crews.
From 1962 it stood as a monument in the cemetery at Westerplatte. It was moved to Drzonów in summer 2007. A welded patch reinforcing cracked armour survives on the left side of the hull. This tangible evidence of repair is as much part of the vehicle’s history as dates and unit names. A crew of four worked in a vehicle with a combat weight of 26.8 tonnes.

This tank combines parts from several factories. Its hull, the main body of the vehicle, was built in Stalingrad. The turret was made in Sverdlovsk and the gun in Gorky. During the war the tank lost its earlier turret and received another during repairs. A steel patch on its left side also reinforced damaged armour.
Later, it served Polish soldiers learning to operate tanks. In 1949 it was with a unit in Żagań. From 1962 it stood as a monument at Westerplatte, before being brought to Drzonów in summer 2007. Its crew had four members. This one machine’s history includes war, training, a memorial and a museum.
