O výstave

“Three Centuries of Life at Łomnica Palace” is an exhibition in the Large Palace, occupying 18 rooms on two floors and in the vaulted cellar. It spans the period from 1720 to communist-era Poland. Historic furniture, works of art and everyday objects furnish the interiors to show the surroundings of people who lived and worked in the residence.

The rooms include the study of eighteenth-century linen merchant Christian Mentzl and the nineteenth-century dining room of ambassador Carl Gustav Ernst von Küster. The kitchen reveals the work involved in meals, while an original classroom recalls the palace's later role. The story therefore extends beyond grand drawing rooms to include servants, children and the building's postwar use.

The multimedia guide contains a room map and 60 short films. Visitors can use a tablet with headphones or their own smartphone connected to the local network. A brochure can also be borrowed for the visit. The Basic programme includes a 13-minute film; Classic includes a 20-minute film, and Extra a 35-minute film. These are different visit programmes, rather than three compulsory screenings included in a single ticket.

Pre deti

The exhibition takes you through 18 rooms. It shows what life in the palace was like at different times. A study belonged to a linen merchant, a dining room recalls an ambassador's home, and the kitchen tells the story of preparing meals. There is even an original classroom from the time when the palace housed a school.

Short films and a map on a tablet or smartphone help you explore the rooms. Some stories were prepared for children. You can also borrow a brochure. The Basic programme includes a film about the palace's history, while other visit options have their own screenings and booking arrangements.
