About

Ploughing, sowing, harvesting, threshing and storing crops establish the farmer's annual working cycle. Implements relate to these tasks: sickles, rakes, forks, flails, winnowing equipment, measures and baskets. Farmers grew cereals, root crops and vegetables. Dibbers, small hoes and spades represent gardening, while scythe maintenance is illustrated by tools for peening and sharpening the blade.

Raising cattle, horses, pigs, sheep and poultry required different equipment. The display includes yokes, a horse collar, harness, horseshoes, bits, bells and whips. Sheep shears, a poultry drinker and tools for tending and treating animals are also represented. They concern both the use of animal power and routine care.

Photographs and plans illustrate rural building traditions, while a reconstructed room corner presents a domestic sacred space. It contains a table, corner bench, chairs, a mirror and religious pictures. The kitchen section concerns bread baking. Authentic equipment and reconstructed domestic surroundings introduce village life from the late nineteenth to the mid-twentieth century.
