About

Múzeum vo Svätom Antone

Svätý Anton Manor House, completed in 1750, preserves interiors associated with the Koháry and Coburg families. Furniture, textiles and paintings were collected from the early 18th to the early 20th century. Portraits of European dynasties share the residence with Chinese embroidery, Japanese lacquerwork and the chapel's Baroque paintings. The rooms differ in their materials, decoration and former uses.

The museum's other subject is the history of hunting in Slovakia. Weapons and falconry equipment appear alongside dioramas depicting animal habitats. Outside, formal terraces give way to a landscape park and woodland, while the ponds are linked by cascades supplied through a water channel. The complex has been a national cultural monument since 1985.
