About

Two ponds, linked by waterfalls and cascades, form part of the park's surviving water system. A channel several kilometres long, incorporating aqueducts, brings water from the Kolpašský stream. The ponds are therefore not isolated pools: they belong to a larger network through which water is supplied and circulated.

Traces of a formal Baroque layout survive on the terraces. Beyond them, the design gives way to a landscape park and then to woodland. This change can be seen in the contrast between the ordered terrace surfaces and the less formal greenery. One feature of the garden architecture is the grotto, an artificially made cave. It belongs to the park's Romantic decorative scheme, alongside bridges, gazebos and resting places with benches. A walk connects the garden's gradual transition into woodland with the relationships between ponds, cascades and their supply channel.
