About

The first, modest display in the castle consisted mainly of items on deposit from the Museum of Art in Łódź. The present exhibition of manor interiors was created in 1965 to a concept by Grażyna Kin-Rzymkowska, who ran the museum from 1961 to 2006. Since then the display has been constantly supplemented and enriched over the following decades.

It is made up of works of art and decorative crafts from the 16th to the early 20th century: Polish and foreign portraits, textiles, faience, porcelain, glass, objects of silver, pewter and ivory, weapons and furniture. The exhibits came to the museum by way of transfers, gifts and purchases. The museum also holds historical and ethnographic collections documenting the material culture of the manor and the farm estate.

The 18th-century portraits of the Sołłohub family are connected with the history of the castle itself. This group also includes mirrors with jardinières from the early 19th century and English faience vessels from Shelton.
