Horehronské múzeum
Horehronské múzeum tells the story of Brezno through houses, objects and residents' lives. The historical exhibition in a restored town house follows the town from its beginnings to 1918. The building itself belongs to that history: formed from two older houses, it recovered its Renaissance façade after a great fire.
A second strand is Literárne Brezno, housed in a former granary at the Lutheran parsonage. Manuscripts, published books and personal belongings introduce Martin Rázus. Alongside them, a chronological survey presents writers connected with the town, from seventeenth-century authors to later generations. Bringing civic history and literature together reveals Brezno as both a place of everyday work and a subject for novels.
